Style Edit | I Don’t Believe in Basics
I don’t believe in basics.
Not because I hate minimalism—but because I don’t think my clothes should whisper when they can speak. I’ve never liked blending in. Not at work, not in a crowd, and definitely not in my closet.
Give me texture. Give me volume. Give me silhouettes that make people wonder where I shop.
I like boutique finds that feel one of a kind. I like an unexpected sleeve, a loud shoulder, a pop of color in a room full of beige. Even my so-called “basics” come with structure, sheen, or just the right amount of drama.
People love to say “invest in staples.”
I say: invest in pieces that make you feel like a main character. Even on a random Tuesday.
I’ll always reach for the top that makes someone stop me in the hallway. Not for attention—but because style is one of my love languages.
I dress like I’ve arrived—even when I’m still on the way.

I love this!! I’ve also learnt that my ‘staples’ are often brightly coloured or beautifully textured. It’s crazy how much clothing helps people to truly discover themselves!
